More on massive, open, online classes (MOOCs)

George Siemens, a MOOC practitioner and researcher, has thousands of students enrolled in his class and he handles the large number of students by decentralizing. It’s not only up to Siemens to teach the students, but he encourages students to help each other out in different social media, such as Twitter or Facebook. Siemens said he hasn’t found the best model, but he is only experimenting.

I chose this article because I found it interesting how different teachers use social networks so students can help one another. It is easier for students to contact each other on a larger range. This fits under Internet Skills (User skills and Content creation) in our class outline.
